'Iller' in hip/hop terms means 'better'. So if sapian is another word for 'human', then the illersapiens are better humans- and if creativity and charisma is anything to go by, then they're definitely well named! ....All 10 members of them!The lead singer hails from Brixton, and is full of anecdotes about his upbringing and life in the melting pot that is South London.
Illersapians are terrific performers, and do all they can to captivate the audience. The front man is charismatic and involves everyone - with a joke at the ready and funky moves, their a great band to see live. Their music is a mix of funk and hip/hop - and it is hard not to feel the urge to dance whilst they are on stage jamming away.
The song to listen out for is Brixton, which encapsulates brilliantly what life is like in that multi-cultural melting pot.....
