R.I.P Mr Swayze

I am a big fan of Mr Patrick Swayze and few guys in hollywood carry themselves with a calm personable aura. A gentleman to the end, and as the ladies say a legendary stud. You will be missed.

Memoirs of a Future Baller

These are the memoirs (have i spelt this right?) of a future baller. For those of you that aren't savy, thats rich. (term eminates from sports stars being stupidly rich, basket ball football, hence baller).

So I parked my car today and decided to take a walk with a huge Fat Talent banner for about a mile or 2. I just felt like getting out of the car and mixing it up with the common folk on foot (translation: my destination was in the congestion chrge zone, and this mother fo aint paying £8).

I strolled down in my usual cool demenor (definately spelt this wrong) and huge banner and delivered it as planned. I then decided to pop round the local boutiques and have a gander at what was about (translation: where the deals at yawl). Having spoted a cool boutique for kids I decided to pop in and buy some items for the young one from a lovely shop called "Sasti" with the slogan "Groovy clothes for kids". I made my boutique purchases and went about my business in the area as intended.

After I had ticked of my objectives, I stopped of in an authentic looking Mexican joint for a burito and an American soda. These bastards charged me £1.80 for a can. I have had a huge problem since childhood of sending things back once they have been tallied up at the counter so I took the soda (yes bitches I will call it a soda to make up for the daylight robbery) and enjoyed every last drop it had to offer. I wacked of the burito like the proffesional eater I am (yes I love food and am in shape. hate on me please) said thanks to the Chef and was outa there before they could say soda.

Next order of business, buy laptop from esstablished North West London retailer a.k.a a man who can get anything supposedly. I got there and this scumbag, uh I mean shop had sold my laptop (yes I called dibs) to another fool with a higher bid. Angry and in need of a scrap (fight), I decided to live by the code of a future baller. Be a gentlman/pimp and let low lives be lives.

Peace.

Entourage

This is the second show to receive the BEES KNEES rating from the Fat Blog. This show is genius. Not only does it give good insight into Hollywood life, it has many layers such as friendship and even work ethic that keeps the audience wanting more from the lovable characters.

The show is about an A list movie star on the rise and his day to day life with his 2 best friends and his brother. The story also centres around his agent Ari Gold who is just a gem to watch. For those of you, who are savvy with the internet, try to catch it online somewhere as I am not sure if it is being broadcast in the UK yet. For those of you that have no go to sites for shows, check out:

Clock???

Tried and tested
Tried and bested
Let not those who continually come second think less of their actions

Calm and rested
Calm and bested
Let not the Lazy feel they have no place in society for they are key

Smart AND TESTED
Smart but bested
Let not the intelligent look down on others for they see things you cannot

Always be keen, always learning, always listening
You do not know where your next source of wisdom will come from
Even a BROKE ASS clock is RIGHT twice a day

The Drive Thru

50% of Americans are fat/obese. This is quite a staggering statistic when considering the size of the continent. I remember being in America and driving home (hotel) at about 3am in the morning. I was struck by the sight of a Dunkin Donuts all day drive through in quite a remote area and even more surprisingly there were a few cars waiting to get their fill of either late night satisfaction or early morning bliss (whichever way you look at it). Even more telling was the sight of the customer currently at the window. He was HUGE. I mean the way I remember it he was struggling to get both hands over his belly to collect his pack of 24 donuts. America why do you do this to your people?

Anyway some people claim fast and junk foods are instrumental to society as they keep the general masses fat and lazy. I mean who wants a country full of lean and mean people rearing to go at any opportunity. Right away you would have twice the amount of protestors, twice the amount of environmentalists and more people in general would be conscious of ongoing issues and more willing to question the government.

Others simply think that fast food joints run the world and they fund wars inorder to get their grubby hands on the local market. The truth is that just having a franchise in any given country doesn’t achieve their aims..... oh no, the last piece of the jigsaw is to get the drive through. Thats when you know that the demand is seriously there and you can truly reap the benefits of a nation slowly punishing themselves to obesity.

***********NEWSFLASH

Now I’m sure by now, many of you have heard the breaking news that sadly Kermit the frog has contracted swine flu......and died.

Now there has been much speculation regarding just where, when & how??? our beloved icon got the virus; and other blogs have chosen to make light of the washed up star with reports such as:

“The pig gave it to him,” said Fozzy Bear. “It’s very obvious. I bet Kermit regrets stickin’ it to the pig! Wocka wocka!”

Kermit: “The darn pig told me she was clean.”

He shouldn’t have licked his finger

Kermit the Frog died of swine flu yesterday because he finally ate out Miss Piggy.

It saddens me that my fellow bloggers and chat room fiends have chosen to write mass speculation over the passing of a former icon. I for one will not be following this trend..... and it is not because I don't have a punchline ;-)

Writers Block?

So it turns out that I officially have writers block. I know it seems silly since I am actually writing but that is not writers block. We can all just type up a few words but when our brain refuses to function as it so often does, or imagine as it imagines, some of us are left with no way of expressing ourselves through pen or should I say via typing. Now all is left of the short novel I started, is the idea for the front cover and my hope!

Scowering the net, I found a lot of books about how to conquer writers block. Wow. What a way to get your imagination back. Read a boooooooring text book till you drop. Honestly, they’ll put anything in a book these days. And anybody will buy it.

Well enough of my ramblings.....

Keep in touch with the blog this week & every week as we will have more great interviews from some of the best emerging talent around and our fashion experts will keep you entertained with fashion focused articles. We will also be running weekly competitions so be sure to get your thinking caps on, because they won’t be easy....

Setup City (We've been Framed)

Our fair city London. America has all these other names for it’s cities such as: City of angels, the windy city and the Big apple. We unfortunately do not have one. Well I know what London is, its setup city.
This is the place where you are lured to clubs and made to stand outside in the cold for ages anticipating a great rave only to eventually get in and find out it’s kinda empty and you are drunk for nothing.

This is the city where you could quite comfortably be minding you business in a rave and spot a foxy lady staring at you in admiration, only for you to go and have a word and her make an exhibition of turning you down (what happened there???).

This is the city where you poke your head out of your house thinking it’s a dry sunny day, only to find when you are at least 20 minutes from home that it is starting to rain (damn I left my jacket).

This is the city where you will see the barriers at the tube open and when you walk through, find yourself in cuffs at the other end and being questioned for fare evasion (damn the ticket was only 2 quid).

This is the city with hidden and confusing congestion charge signs that leave you going home and finding out 3 weeks later that you owe the mayor and his croonies £50/£60 (did I really drive there?).

This is the city where after Senator Obama became President Obama, they put a one Mr Rascal on TV to undo all that good work and set us back at least half a decade (why Dizzie why???).

This is the city where I can find no news on what happened at that cricket match for the millions of dollars as I must assume the English lost (well I hope they did or I will look stupid).

This is our city and we kind of like it and won’t really trade it in for anything else. Well not for Birmingham anyway.

American Report Part 2

So I visited this fashion show in New York by a designer called Tye Scott. He had good swimsuit designs. The event was hosted by a man with a V-neck jumper that ended it’s V around his belly and a pair of black high heels. Strange, you say. But in New York it seemed to fit to an extent. Though it would appear to an outsider like me that he was a bit tipsy, or a bit wasted. He spoke some interesting words on building a good network outside of the mainstream and giving opportunities to fellow designers. He paid homage to his good staff and was relatively amusing. The fashion show it self contained some quality models as well as an interesting addition of a bustier heavier model than the rest (see what you have done, ANTM?). She did light up the stage for her …. uhm ….. fierceness (thanks, Tyra) but also for the weight applied to the stage.

During the show a native New Yorker who was a bit bemused that I was just another audience member engaged me in conversation. “The way you are dressed I thought you were a preppy designer.” She said. I responded, “No luv, this is how rude boys dress back home!! LONDON BABY!!!!!!!!!!!”

American Report Part 1

One of our own is out in the U.S of A. He will be posting his highly expansive memos exclusively here.

So I am walking into Madison Square Garden and this securtity guard who seems to have had enough of these young punks is saying to his friend, "whats up with these kids, why they have to wear dey pants so low?" Then he stops me saying "this kid is dressed nice, hey (speaking to me now) why do these punks dress like this, how come you don't dress like that?" I say "Because I'm from England."

His response "There's black people in England???!!!!!!!!!"

Imagination Creates Bliss At No Cost

Imagination is a precious gift. It allows us mental escape as well as the foundation for plans to be built upon. Some have more imagination than others but what is important is how you use your imagination. Will you have the courage to make your imaginations a reality? If your imagination takes to realms far and impossible, will you share them in story form?

It is good to let our minds run wild and offer us the bliss that so many seek from other avenues. It is a great gift imagination, for it offers BLISS at no cost.

Mad Men

This show is the bees knees (what does that really mean????)

Classy characters, very reflective and insightful on everyday life issues in the 60's that are still relevant today.

O and when the women are only secretaries and the only black people are the help (lift operator and house keeper), you realise how much things have changed.

Top show.

You come to this world alone, you leave alone

You come to this world alone, you leave alone.

But is that really the case? Isn’t it more accurate that you came into this world with the help of mummy? Didn’t you have lots and lots of company before you even entered mummys womb?

Most times there are a whole host of people waiting to welcome you into the world (doctors, horrified dad, mother in excruciating pain and demanding daddy’s head with the words “YOU DID THIS TO ME”)

But lets forget this argument for a moment and stick with the title. Lets say you physically come into this world alone. Do you do so spiritually? Atheists don’t panic this is not a religious post .

What if the suckers you left behind give you a sending off? What if there were angels, spirits or uhhhhh fairies (????) around to assure the process went smoothly. I am not sure about this myself.

As for leaving the earth, well I do think that some spiritual being, ghost, angels or bad spirits ( reference movie ‘Ghost’). Many feel that others guide us to the after life so basically we don’t leave alone. I don’t know??? What I do know is that we are not alone through our lives.

FEATURE: My Congestion charge

So someone see's fit to charge me for sitting in my own car and call it congestion charge. Did I have a choice, I think not? has it reduced congestion? I think NOT.

So what do I suggest should happen? What would I change if I were mayor?

Well I would have MORE congestion charges, that’s what. Congestion charge for London tube. Time to start making people pay for squeezing onto trains like sardines. Maybe if you get a £5 charge for every time you join a congested train the government can make more money..uh..oops I meant help cut congestion.
