Chris Royal

Singer songwriter born and raised in Manchester, Chris has been singing all his life heavily influenced by soul jazz and gospel.

Despite no musical background in his family Chris knew his place was on the stage weather in theatre or popular music & always had a passion for music.

Chris started to get work around the age of 17 after the success of channel 4s musicool which he was fortunate enough to be apart of, and since then he has performed at events around the UK showcasing his soulful voice. Aswell as musicool Chris has also been lucky enough to work within music touring with artists and opening for acts such as Neyo and T-Pain not to mention touring with Josh Groban as a backing vocalist for his sold out uk tour.

RAUL MIDON

Last night at the Jazz Cafe (Camden) I lay witness to the amazing talent that is Raul Midon. The blind guitarist (who also plays various other instruments including the drums) has stolen the show over seas and last night we got to see what all the fuss is about.

Playing a mixture of Jazz and soul infused funk with latin vibes, Raul Midon (New-Mexico born, New York Based) has turned into a breath of fresh air for acoustic music lovers around the world.

"I like to celebrate the possible, the highest, the best of possibilities for human beings," says Midon

He also does this really impressive thing with his mouth by imitating trumpets and harmonises it with his guitar solo's. I know by the end of this you'll be kicking yourself and wishing you also came to see him, and so you should.

'Iller' in hip/hop terms means 'better'. So if sapian is another word for 'human', then the illersapiens are better humans- and if creativity and charisma is anything to go by, then they're definitely well named! ....All 10 members of them!

The lead singer hails from Brixton, and is full of anecdotes about his upbringing and life in the melting pot that is South London.

Illersapians are terrific performers, and do all they can to captivate the audience. The front man is charismatic and involves everyone - with a joke at the ready and funky moves, their a great band to see live. Their music is a mix of funk and hip/hop - and it is hard not to feel the urge to dance whilst they are on stage jamming away.
The song to listen out for is Brixton, which encapsulates brilliantly what life is like in that multi-cultural melting pot.....
